The brand Chi Kitchen was created after much thought. The word Chi in Chinese means energy. Our aim, therefore is to build a brand that is going to offer not only great food, but also provide good energy to Debenhams customers and also new customers that Chi Kitchen will attract. We have also chosen a Chinese symbol , which again has a strong meaning… it means Fire. We have managed to link the word Chi and the symbol together, as fire can be converted into energy. Fire also relates directly to our restaurant, as we are using a robata grill in all sites. We believe that the use of the words Chi Kitchen will resonate with Debenhams customers, and will give a clear understanding that this site represents a strong Pan Asian food offering.

Chi Kitchen offers a relaxed and welcoming feel. They are all open for both breakfast, lunch and dinner and the open plan nature of the restaurant, invites guests to witness the chefs at work, as they freshly prepare the sushi, sashimi and charcoal grilled delights.

Chi Kitchen in Oxford Street accommodates up to 68 guests and in Birmingham can accommodate 168 guests, plus a welcoming champagne bar in both.

The interior design of the restaurant is inspired by the five elements mainly fire, water, wood, earth and metals. The mixture of marble, timber and leather create an elegant and welcoming setting, inviting customers to enjoy a fantastic experience, both in terms of environment and the exotic food on offer. With our creative menu we offer colourful, tasty and exotic food to the discerning customers of Debenhams. Influenced by Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean food, Chi Kitchen offers a truly culinary journey through South East Asia.

Chi Kitchen is jointly owned by experienced restaurateur Eddie Lim and entrepreneur Stan Myerson.

At Chi Kitchen we offer totally bespoke event catering. Over the years we have provided our services for many high profile occasions around the country including Prince Charles' polo event, Taste of London and Jamie Oliver's Big Feastival, to name a few.

Our highly skilled chefs can cater for all dietary requirements, whether for a black tie event or canapé reception. There's no event too big or small, and we can bring the fine dining restaurant experience to your event at home or to another venue.
